December 2010

December 1, 2010

Starting out the season right with some paper snowflakes! By the end of the night we were getting pretty darn good at making them!

December 2, 2010

Kids get to wear their jammies to school once a year, and they LOVE it! Luckily *I* don’t need permission for a pajama day whenever I feel the urge!

2

December 3, 2010

The WCB children’s Christmas party was a huge success! You can’t beat Santa AND the Science Center all in one night!

3

December 4, 2010

All of those giggles were worth braving the cold and wind for a day on the sledding hill!

4

December 5, 2010

Working together to stuff envelopes made quick work of getting our Christmas letters ready to mail!

5

December 6, 2010

The only thing more fun that decorating gingerbread houses, is decorating gingerbread houses with good friends like the Northcotts!

6

December 7, 2010

With many friends sick or busy, we decided to make this year’s “twilight saga” movie night a family affair.

7

December 8, 2010

Craft time! This year we made some adorable (and easy) candy cane reindeer. Delightful and delicious Winking smile

8

December 9, 2010

We scored BIG at this year’s Relief Society cookie exchange. Mmmmm… it’s starting to really feel like Christmas now!

9

December 10, 2010

My birthday date with Lyndon was so awesome. We had dinner at Moxie’s followed by watching the re-release of Avatar at the Imax in 3D! I loved the added scenes and it was like magic seeing it on the enormous IMax screen!

December 11. 2010

Our ward had a “Charlie Brown” Christmas party this year, and our youth did such a great job on their skit. I loved every second.

11

December 12, 2010

One of my own personal favorite Christmas traditions is the night we drive around town enjoying the Christmas lights. The beauty just amazes me.

12

December 13, 2010

This year we made ornaments for the kids’ teachers. The girls did most of the work and I know that they felt so good handing them out.

13

December 14, 2010

Christmas caroling to the Gehmlich’s home (our temple president and matron) became a wonderful evening of visiting. We are so blessed to have them!

14

December 15, 2010

I was having major “proud mommy” moments during the entire school concert. All of the girls were outstanding. They have been blessed with wonderful voices and lots of confidence!

15

December 16, 2010

Imagination runs rampant in our home. Just look at one of the little rock critters we created!

16

December 17, 2010

JJ’s family day was so fun and was officially the 3rd “gingerbread” house for our family this season. Unfortunately, this one only lasted a day. With those delicious candies, it didn’t stand much of a chance.

17

December 18, 2010

Big day for TJ! She was invited to sing a solo on a Christmas CD by local singer/songwriter, Bob King! I can’t wait to hear the final version when the CD is released.

18

December 19, 2010

We were shocked and surprised to have a large parcel dropped on our doorstep anonymously. It was filled to overflowing with gifts and surprises for all of us. We are so incredibly loved here.

19

December 20, 2010

Tonight’s Christmas activity? Making playdough! We ended up with SO MUCH playdough, our imaginations will get LOTS of exercise Smile

December 21, 2010

Happy 32nd birthday to me! So many fun surprises including being treated to a night out by friends, a card and gift card being dropped off by a “secret” giver, some treats dropped off by a good friends, tonnes of happy birthday wishes, and receiving a silhouette SD machine from the girls at HowDoesShe! Oh, and I can’t forget and amazing breakfast in bed. *sigh* BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH!

December 22, 2010

You know there has been a LOT of snow fall when clearing your driveway produces enough chunks of snow to make your own inukshuk family like our neighbors did.

22

December 23, 2010

This looks peaceful, doesn’t it? Sleeping in front of the Christmas tree with your sisters on Christmas “Adam” (the night before Christmas Eve). Deceiving. After some arguing and tears, half of them slept in their own beds, while the other half stayed up MUCH too late and were cranky pants the next day. Live and learn!

December 24, 2010

New Jammies! A Christmas Eve tradition!

24

December 25, 2010

Christmas morning held a wonderful surprise! Grandma and Grandpa Grunewald were waiting in the livingroom, which had our girls very literally jumping up and down. This is what Christmas is all about!

25

December 26, 2010

We really enjoyed all of our visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Grunewald during their visit. Best Christmas in recent memory!

26

December 27, 2010

We put the men (and the kids!) to work painting both of the girls’ rooms. Goodbye to that horrible mustard yellow and midnight blue – hello to some light and airy new walls!

27

December 28, 2010

TJ has been really enjoying spending more time with her girlfriends. She had a blast at Jasper’s birthday party and has started taking after her old mom with her joy of taking pictures.

28

December 29, 2010

I took some time today to snap some quick pics of B for her birthday invites. She is getting so beautiful. I can hardly remember her being a little baby. And now she is going to be 9. It’s hard to comprehend.

29

December 30, 2010

Starting our new “healthier eating” plan! We want to nurture our bodies and minds this coming year, and cutting out the junk is a huge change we plan to make. Good bye hamburgers…hello salads and subs!

30

December 31, 2010

We rang in the new year with several of our fun and wonderful friends. We love the people here like we do our own families. This city is full of amazing people!
